All of us might just jump in and start participating in discussions that aim at policy creation, but we would be doing so on the basis of different foundational understandings and by using different discursive methods. Some of these can be effective in producing positive experiences with the process and good products in terms of policies, but many are not. As we see all too often, poor methods and foundations can lead to errors and misunderstandings that transform potentially constructive differences into destructive divisions. Our approach at Frog Policy begins with two foundational principles — truth and trust — and then builds upon this fundamental understanding with explications of other core concepts related to life and human flourishing. In accordance with these aims and understandings, we develop and teach methodologies that enable users to gather, evaluate, and interpret data, analyze arguments and narratives, structure their own thought and discourses, and engage in productive discussions with others.
